At Gelman Vision, we are proud to offer a variety of procedures to help you improve your sight and the overall health of your eyes. Review our procedures list below and give us a call to learn how we can help you get clearer vision today!
LASIK—Laser Eye Surgery
Correct your sight and ditch corrective lenses.
As time passes, vision naturally becomes dull and you lose the ability to see far or near. Thus your need for contacts or glasses. But with the use of lasers, a LASIK surgery changes the shape of your cornea and clears your vision so you won’t need contacts or glasses.
Cataracts Surgery
Remove cloudy vision caused by cataracts.
Cataracts cause your natural lens to become cloudy making it hard to see clearly, and surgery is the only way to remove it. During surgery, your lenses will be swapped out for new artificial lenses, and your cloudy vision will improve.
Corneal Transplant
Correct your vision and relieve eye pain.
Some medical conditions can cause vision loss, but vision corrections can be made through a corneal transplant by replacing the corneal tissue with tissue from a donor. This transplant procedure can also be used to treat pain from an eye infection, damage, or disease.
Refractive Lens Exchange
Limit your time spent wearing corrective lenses.
Refractive Lens Exchange is a kind of vision corrective procedure. Instead of lasers, this procedure uses ultrasound to remove the natural lens of your eyes and replace it with an intraocular lens. Now, you can minimize how often you need to wear corrective lenses throughout the day.
Corneal Cross Linking
Correcting Keratoconus and improving your eye health.
Keratoconus happens when the cornea becomes thin and bulges into a cone shape. Corneal Cross-Linking is a minimally invasive procedure that uses eye drops and ultraviolet light to treat and strengthen the collagen fibers of the cornea halting the progression of the disease.
Pterygium Surgery
Remove Surfer’s Eye and relieve your dry eyes.
Pterygium—often called Surfer’s Eye—is a raised, triangular-shaped growth on your eye, and it’s caused by ultraviolet light exposure. This condition doesn’t always affect vision, but it can cause eye dryness, redness, and inflammation. Have the tissue removed during a pterygium excision and keep your eyes healthy and happy.
Vital Tears
Treat eye diseases with your own blood.
Many diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, keratitis, or Sjogren’s syndrome cause moderate to severe eye dryness. But Vital Tears—serum eye drops—made with your own blood in a medical laboratory can be used to prevent and treat eye damage and inflammation. This method of eye drops does a better job of mimicking your natural tears and is preservative-free.
LipiFlow
Treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction and refresh your dry eyes.
LipiFlow is a treatment intended to treat dry eyes and it’s FDA-approved! During the procedure, you’ll receive therapeutic heat and gentle massages to your eyes to open blocked ducts and restore the flow of natural oils needed to produce tears and keep your eyes healthy.
PROKERA®
Protect and heal your damaged eye surfaces.
Acting much like a bandage, PROKERA® is an FDA-approved treatment used to provide ocular symptom relief and treat inflammation. Made from an amniotic membrane, PROKERA® is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring element and looks similar to a contact lens. Your eye surgeon will place the device on your eye and monitor your symptoms until it is removed.
